1976 – finished Secondary School in Ross, Grodno Region

1977 – the Grodno Chemists’ Vocational School, Honors Degree

1977-1979 – regular service in the Armed Forces of the USSR

1979-1980 – study at the Preparatory Department of the Grodno State Medical University

1980-1984 – study at the Faculty of General Medicine of the Grodno State Medical University

1984 – was transferred to the Faculty of Military Medicine of the Kuibyshev State Medical University, graduated in 1986

1986-2002 – occupied a variety of posts in the Armed Forces of the USSR and the Republic of Belarus

2002-2004 – Chief Medical Officer of the Western Operational Command

2003 – was conferred the rank of Colonel of Medical Service by the Order of the President of the Republic of Belarus

2004-2014 – Head of the Reserve-Officer Training Department of the Grodno State Medical University

August 2014 – was assigned to the Reserve Forces according to the years of service

Since November 2015 to date – Chief of Civil Defense Staff at the Grodno State Medical University appointed to the position by the Rector’s Order, Colonel of the Reserve Medical Services


V. N. Korabach is the author and co-author of 12 textbooks and manuals, 19 articles.

By decrees of the President of the Republic of Belarus, he was awarded the Medals for Irreproachable Service 1st, 2nd and 3rd Class; 10 Jubilee Medals; Certificate of Achievement presented by the Rector of the University; Certificates presented by the Defense Minister, the Education Minister, the Deputy Defense Minister for Logistics, Chief of the Military Medicine Agency of the Defense Ministry, Chief of the Military Education Agency of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.


Priority Tasks

Developing operational, administrative and planning documents of the University for Civil Defense issues and arranging their implementation;

Managing Civil Defense Forces of the University and training for emergencies and rescue activities;

Organizing and implementing defensive measures;

Managing the implementation of measures ensuring sustainable functioning of the University in case of wartime conditions;

Arranging collection and providing operational data about  impending or arising emergency situations in wartime;

Warning the University personnel and students about dangers arising in wartime conditions;

Monitoring environment and potentially hazardous facilities, predicting emergencies, providing logistical resources of the facility for emergency response;

Arranging interaction between the Civil Defense Staff of the University and Military Administrative Bodies as well as the Grodno Civil Defense Staff on emergencies prevention and response issues;

Carrying out other Civil Defense tasks in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Belarus
