GrSMU International Students are the Recipients of the Belarusian Peace Foundation Scholarship

On January 28, 2026, Grodno Molodezhniy Center hosted an awards ceremony for the recipients of scholarship of Grodno Regional Branch of the Belarusian Peace Foundation. This year, 62 talented students from regional educational institutions, who have achieved outstanding results in scientific, social, cultural and sports life, were presented the exclusive award.

Among the recipients, there are students of the Medical Faculty for International Students – Ahamioje Omosenobua Precious (year 5) and Samaraweera Umaya (year 6).

Ahamioje Omosenobua Precious is a participant and prize-winner of the olympiad in Russian 2023 (1st place), 2024 (2nd place) and olympiad in Microbiology 2024 (2nd place). She’s a participant and diploma winner (2nd class) of the XXII Republican Student Conference with International Participation “Language. Society. Medicine” (2022). Precious took part in international scientific and educational projects, such as “For Peace and Creation on Planet Earth” (21.02.2023) and “Save the Good to Live” (21.02.2024). Moreover, she’s the editor of the scientific journal “Horizon”, leader of the cultural and social sector of the African Students Union, as well as a volunteer.

Samaraweera Umaya is the author of 9 articles, including those in peer-reviewed journals. She’s the owner of the 3rd class diploma of the International Student Conference “Scientia Infinita” (2025), winner of olympiads in Cardiology, Microbiology, Dermatovenerology, Infectious Diseases and Latin, as well as a prize-winner in olympiads in Pathological Anatomy (2nd place), Biological Chemistry (3rd place), Pharmacology (3rd place) and Biochemistry (3rd place). Umaya is a multiple winner and prize-winner in olympiads in Russian as a Foreign Language. Besides, she’s a member of the University Council, leader of the academic sector of the Sri Lankan Students Union (2023-2025), one of the founders of the intellectual games club, an announcer of social events and a volunteer.

The Peace Foundation scholarship serves as a reward for academic and social achievements, highlighting its significance for supporting self-motivated youth.
