Preliminary Results of the XXXII Republican Contest of Students’ Scientific Works

The Republican Contest of Students’ Scientific Works was held starting from October 1, 2025. Students of the Medical Faculty for International Students achieved decent results in the Contest.

In the “Clinical Medicine” section, the following were awarded the 1^st category:

• Warnakulasuriya Fernando Rashina Shanani (graduate), scientific adviser – V.G. Marmysh, topic “Evaluation of the antioxidant effect of acetylcysteine in experimental uveitis”;
• Mathotaarachchi Bihara Rasanjalee (year 6), Hewage Sandeepa Abhishek (year 6), scientific adviser – L.V. Kolotsei, topic “Inflammatory markers and their genetic polymorphisms in patients with different phenotypes of chronic heart failure”;
• Samaraweera Umaya (year 6) co-authored with D.D. Romanyuk, scientific adviser – T.G. Lakotko, topic “State of vegetative tone and ventilatory function in patients with pneumonia”.

In the “Fundamental Medicine” section, the following received the 1^st category:

• Yogarathnam Lakshanna (year 5) co-authored with V.A. Kovaleva, scientific adviser – N.E. Maksimovich, E.V. Gusakovskaya, topic “Pathogenetic correction of experimental peritonitis by influencing on the no-synthase mechanism”.

The 2^nd category:

• Gunathilaka Mudiyanselage Vinodhya Sanduni Gunathilaka (year 3) and De Soyza Edirimuni Wishva Sankethi (year 3), scientific adviser – E.S. Zdanovich, topic “Competencies of the 21^st century physician”;
• Gurbanmammedova Ogulbagt (year 2), Taymanova Jennetgul (year 2), scientific adviser – A.F. Kosilo, topic “Medicine and healthcare in Turkmenistan”.
