Main research areas are hemodynamics in radiation therapy of cancer patients, complex radiation diagnosis of malignancy, clinical radiobiology, the state of nonspecific resistance of cancer patients and the possibility of stimulating it in treatment, morphofunctional heart characteristics in patients with coronary heart disease and exposure to ionizing radiation, computer optimization radiotherapy.

At the department 2 master's theses are prepared, more than 600 scientific works have been published, among them - 1 monograph. 7 inventions, 91 rationalization proposal have been made. Employees of the department regularly make scientific presentations at national, regional conferences, take part in seminars held abroad, and work on the radio diagnostics and radiotherapy.
