Educational activities
The aim of the D.A. Maslakov Department of Pathological Physiology is to organize the educational process and teach the discipline "Pathological Physiology" to third-year students of the Faculty of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Medical Diagnostics, Medical Psychology, and the Faculty of International Students with instruction in Russian and English, and the section of the discipline "Pathology" - "Pathological Physiology" to students majoring in "Nursing" of the Faculty of Medical and International Studies (full-time and part-time education), as well as to further improve the educational, scientific-methodological, research, and ideological-educational work in the department.
The educational process at the department is organized in accordance with the orders of the rector “On the organization of the educational process at the university in the specialties of the first and second levels of higher education, as well as in accordance with the model curricula.
Over the past five years, based on new sample programs, curricula for students of all faculties have been developed and approved by the Rector of the UO "GrSMU", as well as a program for entrance exams to the master's program, five educational modules and a program for scientific and industrial practice for students of the second stage of study (master's program).
The curricula in pathological physiology for the medical, pediatric, medical-psychological and medical-diagnostic faculties for the specialties of "medical diagnostics" and "nursing" (correspondence course) were approved by the rector of the UO "GrSMU" in 2025.
Computerization of the educational process is expanding: computer tests have been developed for all sections of pathological physiology, used in practical classes, final classes, and exams; multimedia versions of lectures have been prepared; educational and methodological complexes have been developed and posted in the MOODLE system; videos of lectures are posted on the YouTube platform, which can be accessed via hyperlinks from the MOODLE platform.
Over the past 5 years, there have been 15 implementations of scientific research results into the educational process, which is important for expanding students' understanding of various pathological processes.
In the 2025-2026 academic year, there are 9.5 faculty positions available. Overall, the department's teaching load is covered by all department staff..
Student performance targets for all faculties are being met. The absolute (quantitative) student performance across all faculties ranged from 99.3% to 100%, with qualitative performance being no lower than 50%. The fluctuations were 74.1%-98.3%: at the Faculty of General Medicine - 74.1%-98.3%, at the Faculty of Foreign Students with Russian as the language of instruction - 74.1%-98.3%, at the Faculty of Foreign Students with English as the language of instruction - 74.1%-98.3%, at the Faculty of Pediatrics - 74.1%-98.3%, at the Faculty of Medical Psychology - 74.1%-98.3%, at the Faculty of Medical Diagnostics - specialty "Medical Diagnostics" - 74.1%-98.3%, specialty "Nursing" full-time education - 74.1%-98.3%, specialty "Nursing" part-time education - 74.1%-98.3%.
The library has a sufficient number of basic textbooks in the specialty for students of the General Medicine, Pediatrics, Medical Psychology, Medical Diagnostics, and the Faculty of Foreign Students with instruction in Russian. The library also has analogs from different years of publication, as well as electronic versions of practical courses and manuals. The library has received 130 copies of the textbook by P.F. Litvitsky (P.F. Litvitsky "Pathophysiology" - 7th ed., revised and enlarged. - Moscow: GEOTAR-Media, 2023. - 864 p.), which can be used by third-year students to prepare for classes in pathophysiology. This manual, as well as the textbook by F.P. Vismont, (F. I. Vismont "Pathophysiology of organs and systems of the body: a textbook." - Higher School, 2024. - 413 p.) Electronic access is open on the website: https://www.studentlibrary.ru/ , which allows students of all faculties to use the textbook. 250 textbooks on pathological physiology “Pathophysiology” were purchased for English-speaking students of the Faculty of International Students.: " Pathophysiology : textbook / NV Krishtal, VA Mikhnev, NN Zayko et al; edited by NV Krishtal, VA Mikhnev. - 3rd edition. - Kyiv: AUS Medicine Publishing, 2019. - 656 p. Over the past five years, three textbooks have been published—one for master's and one for postgraduate students. The department continues to prepare educational and methodological literature for undergraduate students. One textbook and five methodological manuals are currently being prepared for publication, all approved by the Educational and Methodological Association for Medical and Pharmaceutical Education of the Republic of Belarus, including one in English.

An electronic teaching and methodological complex in the Moodle system is available for students of all majors. An electronic teaching and methodological complex has been created for master's students. The department's faculty members continually improve their skills through on-site courses offered by the Republican Institute of Higher Education, as well as in preparation for classes, by familiarizing themselves with new academic and scientific literature, participating in scientific conferences, and participating in online educational platforms.
