History

The Department of Dermatology and Venereology (academic structural unit of  Educational Institution "Grodno State Medical University") is located on the basis of the hospital and polyclinic departments of Grodno Regional Clinical Dermatovenerologic Dispensary.

The Department of Skin and Venereal diseases was established in 1961. In 2002 this structural unit was renamed to the Department of Dermatology with Endocrinology Course, since 2008 – the Department of Dermatology and Venereology. At different times the Department was headed by L. G. Lesun (1961-1963), L. I. Gokinaeva (1963-1978), L. V. Shevlyakov (1978-1987), P. D. Gulaj (1988-2004), V. S. Carikovich (2004-2005). Since 2005 the Department is headed by D. F. Khvoryk. Over the years highly qualified professionals worked at the department: PhD V. R. Rovkach (1962-1980), N.A. Kostanic (1964-1965),
PhD P. I. Dyurd (1977-1990), PhD. A.I. Concha (1980-1999), L. A. Kovalchuk (1990-2017).
