On December 12, 2025, the students of the Medical Faculty for International Students of GrSMU participated in the Creative Welcoming Room “Belarus – the Crossroads of National Cultures” that have been held at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno for the seventh time. As always, performances of our students – representatives of the Sri Lankan, Indian and Multinational Students Unions – became the highlight of the concert program.

It’s worth noting that this year’s total number of participants was approximately 400, of which over than 300 took part in person. Despite the intense competition, our students demonstrated impressive results in various contests.

Thus, our Faculty’s team “Chapman” (Jeyhun Ishangulyyev, Natalia Koziakova, Viktoriia Stepanova (Ladeishchikova) and Kirill Khodyrev) emerged as the overall winner of the “Brain Ring” intellectual game.

At the poetry recitation contest “My Homeland, How Dear You Are to Me” (“Мой родны кут, як ты мне мілы”), the jury selected the winners in three categories: “Depth of the Artistic Word” (“Глубина художественного слова”), “Commitment to Traditions” (“Адданасць традыцыі”) and “Most Emotional Performance” (“Самое эмоциональное выступление”). Our contestants Magumba Fenellah Uside (year 3, group 2a), Edirisinghe Jithmini Onalie (year 3, group 8a), Atapaththu Mudiyanselage Kulasekara Sanduni Anuththara (year 4, group 2a) received diplomas.

International students of 3-6 years of studies, namely Louis Daniela Ogonna, Orekoya Eriiyanuoluwa Anuoluwapo, Cuncheer Shehara Ashmeena, Rajasegaren Shalni, Dheema Mohamed and Hana Hamdhee, gracefully represented the University at the interactive roundtable.

Students of our Faculty and members of the SCRIPTUM literary club prepared 12 essays, among which the jury awarded 2nd and 3rd class diplomas to Aminath Eama Shahid (year 3, group 14a) and Naahy Hussain Zahir (year 2, group 6a).

The Dean’s office of the Medical Faculty for International Students thanks the Department of the Russian and Belarusian Languages and the SCRIPTUM Literary Club for guiding the participants through the preparation for the essay contest, poetry recitation contest and interactive roundtable.

Congratulations to all participants and winners!
