Students from Grodno State Medical University took part in the international creative competition «MediLingua: medical professionals learn a foreign language»

First-year students from group 7 of the Faculty of General Medicine and second-year students from groups 7a and 24a of the Medical Faculty for International Students of Grodno State Medical University together with their senior lecturer and curator T.N. Golovach participated in the online international creative competition "MediLingua: medical professionals learn a foreign language".  

This competition was organized by the International Institute of Medical Education and Cooperation and the Department of Foreign Languages of VGMU named after N.N. Burdenko. It was held from January 20 to March 2, 2026. Samarkand State Medical University co-organized the competition as well.

The aim of the competition was to develop communicative and intercultural skills, foster intellectual and creative potential, increase interest in learning foreign languages and develop cognitive skills, as well as the ability to work in a team.

More than 100 projects were submitted to the competition in the categories of "video projects", "presentations", "posters". Participants were from Yaroslavl State Medical University named after N.N. Burdenko (Voronezh), Yaroslavl State Medical University (Yaroslavl), Saratov State Medical University named after V.I. Razumovsky, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (Moscow), Privolzhsky Research Medical University (Nizhny Novgorod), Voronezh State University (Voronezh), Grodno State Medical University (Grodno, Belarus), Samarkand Medical University (Uzbekistan). The students of GrSMU prepared  2 video projects: 1) English in the life of a medical student; 2) How medical students learn English to participate in this competition, reflecting their experiences of learning a foreign language and deservedly received the 3rd place in the category of the video project "English in the life of a medical student" and a diploma in the nomination "Kaleidoscope of everyday life."

All “MediLingua” participants have gained valuable experience in preparing professionally oriented language projects, including as part of international teams.
