World AIDS Day

On December 1, an informational lecture entitled “World AIDS Day. The Fight against HIV/AIDS: Achievements and Challenges” was held for English-speaking first-year students of the Medical Faculty for International Students. The lecture consisted of two parts. In the first, Irina Anatolyevna Kondratovich, a senior lecturer in the Department of Infectious Diseases, introduced the students to basic information about the disease and discussed the epidemiological situation globally and in Belarus. The second part of the lecture was conducted in a peer-to-peer format. Senior students from our Faculty – ​​ Dheema Mohamed, Rajasegaren Shalni and Agugua Princess Grace Chiamaka – provided a more detailed discussion of the main clinical stages of the disease, their manifestations, risk groups, myths associated with HIV/AIDS and prevention methods.
