Affri Ashroff. "This institution has not only educated me, but also shaped my character. For that, I will always be grateful!"

I'm Affri Ashroff from Group 12a of the class of '25. My time at Grodno State Medical University has been incredibly rewarding, allowing the development of my academic and extracurricular skills, and to pursue my passion for sports. I am deeply grateful for the opportunities that have shaped me into a well-rounded individual.

In the beginning, Belarus was a cultural shock in terms of language, culture and environment. As my time here extended, so did my ability to adapt developed overtime. A big role to play was definitely the university, my teachers and the university staff especially the Dean and the vice deans. The pillars of strength for me were my parents, friends and the seniors who helped both guide and encourage me during rough times.

Academically, I have tried to learn as best as I could. Receiving the opportunity to participate at an International Olympiad, representing my university and my country in an international stage was a great honor, motivated me to push my limits. Participating in research projects and presenting at a few conferences deepened my knowledge and strengthened my analytical skills.

Beyond the classroom, I actively contributed to the faculty life as a member of the Sri Lankan Students Association and Club Evrika of the Medical Faculty for International Students, where I developed communication and teamwork skills as an academic leader and anchor for several events.

Sports played a vital role in my growth, teaching me discipline and resilience. As part of the university Armwrestling and Weightlifting team, I competed in several interstate and interuniversity competitions, proudly contributing to our successes. These experiences taught me the importance of perseverance and teamwork.

None of this would have been possible without the support of Grodno State Medical University. The dedicated faculty and inspiring peers helped me thrive. I am especially thankful to my professors, coaches, and mentors for their guidance.

As I move forward, I carry the lessons and memories from Grodno State Medical University with me. This institution has not only educated me, but also shaped my character. For that, I will always be grateful. Thank you for an unforgettable journey!
