17 june 2025 — 11:00

As I stand at the edge of completing one of the most significant chapters of my life and preparing to begin a new one, I want to share my journey.

Hey! I am Unnati Alpeshkumar Patel, and very soon, Ill proudly carry the title — Dr. Unnati Alpeshkumar Patel!

Six years ago, I arrived at Grodno State Medical University as a hopeful young girl from India, full of dreams and uncertainties, landing in a country I had never been to, with no knowledge of the language spoken here — Belarus. Today, I leave this place transformed, humbled, and deeply grateful — not just as a medical graduate, but as a doctor shaped by countless experiences.

From the moment I stepped on campus, I knew I was in for an adventure. Graduating from a European medical university has truly been a dream come true, and I feel incredibly privileged to have had this opportunity.

Studying alongside students from all over the world was not only a unique and sometimes challenging experience, but it was also enriching and unforgettable. We learned from each other, leaned on each other, and grew together.

Adapting to a completely new environment, language, culture, and educational system

seemed overwhelming at first. But thanks to the unwavering support, mentorship, and patience of the Deans Office, Professors, and Teachers at GrSMU, the path became smoother and more meaningful. To all the professors, thank you for your guidance, your knowledge and your patience, you did not just teach us medicine- you taught us discipline, compassion and perseverance.

These six years have truly been a roller coaster — filled with moments of joy, struggle, growth, homesickness, late-night study sessions, practical exams, and so many small victories. From my very first day at the Anatomy Department on Karla Marksa 1, to my final day at Outpatient Therapy on Limozha 25, every moment has shaped who I am today — both as a person and as a medical professional. From memorizing endless terms to confidently communicating with patients in Russian — weve come a long way.

To my family — thank you for believing in me even when I doubted myself, for being my unwavering pillar of strength no matter how many miles away you were.

And to GRODNO and GrSMU — thank you for becoming my home away from home. You welcomed me with open arms, comfort, and warmth, and you gave me memories I will carry with me forever.

I will always cherish this incredible journey .Thank you for everything.

With all my heart,
Unnati Alpeshkumar Patel
