In 1984, he graduated with honors from Grodno State Medical Institute.

From 1984 to 1986, he studied in a clinical residency at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Grodno State Medical Institute.

From 1986 to 1989 – postgraduate student at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Grodno State Medical Institute.

From 1989 to 1995, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Grodno State Medical Institute.

From 1995 to 2001 – Head of the Cardiology Department No. 3 of Grodno Regional Clinical Cardiology Dispensary.

From 2001 to 2006 – Chief Physician of Grodno Regional Clinical Cardiology Dispensary.

From 2006 to 2010 – Vice-Rector for Research at Grodno State Medical University.

From 2010 to 2020 – Rector of Grodno State Medical University.

Since 2020 – Professor at the 1st Department of Internal Diseases of Grodno State Medical University.

Achievements:

In 1990, he defended his Candidate of Sciences dissertation on: “Characteristics of pulmonary and systemic hemodynamics under the use of effective doses of sustac and anaprilin in patients with coronary heart disease.”

In 2004, he was elected Associate Professor at the Department of Hospital Therapy of Grodno State Medical University.

In 2006, he successfully defended his Doctor of Sciences dissertation: “Sinoatrial node dysfunction (bradycardias, bradyarrhythmias): electrophysiological mechanisms of pathogenesis, classification, clinical features, and differential diagnosis.”

In March 2008, he was awarded the academic title of Professor.

In 2014, he was elected Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2020, he was awarded the distinction badge of the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions “Best Mentor.”

In 2022, he was elected Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Grodno State Medical University.

Chairman of the Eurasian Arrhythmology Association.

Member of the Presidium of the Belarusian Republican Scientific Society of Cardiologists and Internists.

Member of the European Society of Cardiology (including the European Association of Preventive Cardiology, the Heart Failure Association, and the European Heart Rhythm Association).

Author of more than 600 scientific publications, including 19 monographs, 38 patents for inventions and utility models, 12 textbooks, and 19 clinical guidelines.

Under the supervision of V.A. Snezhitskiy, 12 Candidate and 1 Doctoral dissertations have been successfully defended.

V.A. Snezhitskiy is the founder and head of the scientific school of Grodno State Medical University “Clinical Arrhythmology”, which develops modern research directions, particularly in the field of molecular genetics in cardiology.

Research under his leadership is dedicated to arterial hypertension, ischemic heart disease, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias.

He is a leading organizer and coordinator of research and was the scientific supervisor of 6 projects of the State Program of Scientific and Technical Development, Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research, and the international agreement with the Republic of Moldova “BRFFR – ASM-2015.”

For his outstanding professional achievements, he has been awarded Honorary Diplomas of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, the Ministry of Health of Belarus, the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, and the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies.

He has also been awarded the badge “Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Belarus,” the Medal of Francysk Skaryna, the Medal of the Belarusian Federation of Trade Unions “100 Years of the Trade Union Movement of Belarus,” the Medal of the Belarusian Orthodox Church “St. Cyril of Turov,” the International Red Cross Award “Humane Heart,” as well as jubilee medals “100 Years of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus” and “75 Years of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi Invaders.”

Clinical work is carried out at the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care No. 2 and the Department of Interventional Cardiology of the Grodno Regional Clinical Cardiology Center.
