Dremza Iosif Karlovich
Experience:
He holds the academic degree of “Candidate of Biological Sciences” and the academic title of “Associate Professor”.
In 1976 he graduated from the Grodno State Medical Institute, specializing in general practitioner.
From 1976 to 1979 he studied in graduate school at the Department of Normal Physiology of the Grodno State Medical Institute.
From 1980 to 1993 he held the position of assistant in the department of pathological, then normal physiology of the GrSMI.
1993-2004 - Senior Lecturer, Department of Normal Physiology, GrSMU.
Subsequently, from 1994 to 2012, he held the positions of research fellow, senior research fellow, and leading research fellow in the Department of Bioregulators at the Institute of Pharmacology and Biochemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
In 2012, he was accepted to the position of associate professor in the Department of Pathological Physiology at the Grodno State Medical University, where he currently works.
He is responsible for the student scientific circle at the department.
Area of scientific interests:
- Structure, stability and functional properties of biological membranes.
- Mechanisms of oxidative damage to mitochondrial membranes of mammalian cells.
- Mechanisms of disorders of coupling and phosphorylating functions of mitochondria of the liver, myocardium, and brain of experimental animals and their correction under the influence of toxic agents, hypoxia, and experimental diabetes mellitus.
- Development of antioxidant and bioregulatory complexes for the prevention and treatment of diabetic angiopathies, stress-induced myocardial damage, and transient cerebral circulatory disorders.
Achievements:
He has published more than 130 scientific papers, including 11 educational and methodological papers, 8 of which are teaching aids, and 3 of which are approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus.
He is the author of 39 rationalization proposals and 1 invention.
