Experience:

She graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine at the Grodno State Medical Institute in 1984. Since 1984, she has been a member of the Department of Pathological Physiology.

She has held the positions of assistant professor (since 1984), senior lecturer (since 1995), and associate professor in the Department of Pathophysiology (since 2000).

In 1990, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences on the topic "Characteristics of Red Blood Cell Parameters and Humoral Immunity in Mothers and Fetuses with the Administration of Pyrogenal and Prednisolone."

In 2001, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor.

In 2005, she defended her dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medical Sciences, "The Role of Nitric Oxide in the Pathogenesis of Ischemic and Reperfusion Brain Injuries and the Rationale for Their Correction." In 2010, she was awarded the academic title of "Professor."

In 2004, N.E. Maksimovich was elected Head of the Department of Pathological Physiology at Grodno State Medical University, a position she currently holds.

She has worked at the university for 40 years (since 1984), and has held this position for 20 years (since 2004).

She oversees the teaching, research, and educational work in the department.

 

Achievements:

Over the past five years, she has authored/co-authored all undergraduate curricula for all faculties, three academic modules, and a program for scientific and industrial internships for second-cycle (master's) students, as well as the master's entrance exam program. She has co-authored and published six educational and methodological manuals endorsed by the Educational and Methodological Association for Medical and Pharmaceutical Education of the Republic of Belarus, including three manuals for master's and doctoral students, one of which is in English.

 

She promotes the computerization of the educational process: computerized tests for practical classes, final exams, and examinations have been developed for all sections of pathological physiology, multimedia lectures have been prepared, and educational and methodological packages have been developed and hosted in the MOODLE system. Over the past five years, she has implemented approximately 40 research findings into the educational process. Video materials of the lectures are posted on the YouTube channel (about 30 videos have been posted, hyperlinks to which are provided on the Moodle platform of the Department of Pathophysiology).

 

She was a member of the Council of the Faculty of General Medicine and the Faculty of Medical Diagnostics, a member of the University's Bioethics Commission, and a member of the Expert Council of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus (2013-2018). She is currently a member of the University Council, and since 2019, a member of the Dissertation Defense Council D03.18.02 at the Belarusian State Medical University.

 

She leads the department's research. Over the past five years (2020-2024), she has led the department's research on the following topics:

 

  1. "Characteristics of morpho-functional changes in the brain, liver and abdominal cavity in their pathology of circulatory and inflammatory genesis" 2017-2022.

 

  1. Currently, he is the head of the department’s planned scientific work on the topic: “Detailing organ damage in certain types of hypoxic conditions and the search for pathogenetic ways to correct them” (2023-2027).

 

From 2021 to 2023, she supervised a research project under the State Research Program "Translational Medicine" grant, subprogram 4.1 "Experimental Medicine," on the topic: "To study the processes of brain damage and adaptation during ischemia and the use of correction."

 

She supervises the PhD dissertations of postgraduate student Valko N.A. and a doctoral candidate (Bon E.I.), as well as the research work of young department staff. In 2023, under the supervision of Prof. Maksimovich N.E., the PhD dissertation of Senior Lecturer of the Department E.V. Gusakovskaya was defended. From 2021 to 2022, she supervised the defended master's thesis of master's student Feduto M.A., and from 2022 to 2023, she supervised the defended master's thesis of Rusak T.S.). For the period 2020-2024. Under her leadership, 9 scientific papers were submitted to the Republican Competition of Student Scientific Papers, all of which received 1st (6 papers), 2nd degree (2 papers) diplomas, and 1 paper received the title of Laureate of 2023.

 

She is the author of four monographs. Over the past five years, she has co-authored two monographs: "The Rat Brain and Its Response to Ischemia" (2021) and "Morphofunctional Characteristics of Cerebral Ischemia in Comparative Aspects" (2024). She has co-authored 204 scientific articles, including 159 journal articles, 80 of which are in English, 79 articles in journals of the Republic of Belarus and the CIS, 45 articles in collections of the Republic of Belarus and the CIS, and a reference publication, "60 Years of the D.A. Maslakov Department of Pathological Physiology, Grodno State Medical University" (2022).

 

The results of her scientific work have been presented repeatedly at national and international scientific conferences held at the university and other universities in the Republic of Belarus in Minsk, Vitebsk, Gomel, and throughout the CIS.

 

In 2024, an application for a grant to participate in the 2024-2025 state research program competition was submitted.

 

Over the past five years, certificates have been received for 21 rationalization proposals, as well as a patent for the invention "Method for Modeling Ischemic Brain Injury" (2020), and an application for an invention was filed (2023).

 

She is actively involved in expert work. She has served as chair and expert on committees for preliminary dissertation reviews and opposing organizations. She is currently a member of the Dissertation Defense Council D 03.18.02 at the Belarusian State Medical University (since 2019).

 

She is a member of the editorial board of the scientific journal "Biomedicine" (Moscow) and the editorial board of the journal "Modern Problems of Hygiene, Radiation, and Environmental Medicine" (Gomel). She reviews dissertation abstracts and acts as an expert on scientific grants, teaching aids, and textbooks (in 2023, she reviewed the textbook "Special Pathophysiology" for approval by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, edited by Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Professor F.I. Vismont).

 

She oversees the ideological and moral education of students and ensures the participation of staff in ideological and educational events held at the university.

 

In the doctoral rankings in 2020, she ranked 13th (8,684 points), in 2021, 8th (10,202 points), in 2022, 8th (11,954 points), and in 2023, – 1st place (24,646 points). Hirsch index (according to elibrary.ru) – 12.

 

N.E. Maksimovich is a member of the University Council, has been a member of the Society of Physiologists, and a member of the Red Cross and Belaya Rus societies.

 

In 2021, she completed on-site professional development courses at the State Educational Institution "RIVSh" on the topic of "Models, Technologies, and Methods of Teaching at the University" while studying full-time.

She has received gratitude from the university management for fruitful leadership of research work (1998), gratitude and was awarded the University Certificate for extensive educational and scientific work and in connection with the 40th anniversary (2000), gratitude based on the results of the R&D assessment "Rating 2000" (2001), was awarded the Certificate of Honor for personal contribution to the development of the university (2001), the Certificate of the Regional Council of Deputies for long-term fruitful work in training highly qualified medical specialists and great contribution to the development of medical science (2006), was awarded the University Certificate of Honor for personal contribution to the development of the university in 2010, the third prize of the "Special Fund of the President of the Republic of Belarus" for social support of gifted pupils and students in 2010, in 2011 - the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus for long-term fruitful work, in 2013 – Honorary Diploma of the Grodno State Medical University in connection with the 55th anniversary of the university's founding, a letter of thanks from the Chairman of the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies for personal contribution to the development of medical science and practical healthcare, and achievements in training highly qualified specialists (2015), Honorary Diploma of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus (2018), Honorary Diploma of the Grodno State Medical University for personal contribution to the development of the university and in connection with its 60th anniversary (2020), and Honorary Diploma of the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies for significant personal contribution to the development of medical science and practical healthcare (2020).
